Children and adults with intellectual disabilities face challenges every day in communication, memory, and academic skills. However, they also experience significant victories. Our research at The University of Alabama looks at strengths and weaknesses related to intellectual disabilities and how to address them in everyday tasks. If you or someone in your family has an intellectual disability, consider joining The University of Alabama Intellectual Disabilities Participant Registry. By joining the Registry you can work with researchers to learn more about intellectual disability and how to meet its special challenges. The Registry is for children and adults with any cause of intellectual disability. Some examples are Down syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, fragile x syndrome, birth complications, and unknown cause. Families receive $20 for their time and effort when joining the registry!
